Achilles is a figure from Greek mythology who is best known as the greatest warrior of the Trojan War. He was the son of the sea nymph Thetis and the mortal king Peleus, and was said to have been invulnerable except for his heel, where his mother held him while dipping him into the river Styx to make him immortal.

According to the legend, when the Trojan prince Paris kidnapped Helen, the wife of the Greek king Menelaus, Achilles was among the warriors who sailed to Troy to rescue her. Achilles fought heroically throughout the war, but he was eventually killed when Paris shot him with an arrow that struck his vulnerable heel.

Achilles was known for his strength, bravery, and skill in battle, and he was also noted for his beauty.
