Mannitol - Brands

Mannitol is a clear, almost colorless and sterile solution of Mannitol. Each 100 ml of Mannitol contains Mannitol BP 20 g. Administered parenterally, Mannitol raises the osmotic pressure of the plasma, thus drawing water out of body tissues and produces an osmotic diuresis. Mannitol is principally used by IV infusion as an osmotic diuretic to preserve renal function in acute renal failure and to reduce raised intracranial and intraocular pressure. Mannitol is also used as an irrigating solution to prevent hemolysis and hemoglobin buildup during transurethral prostatic resection. It is useful in the management of acute drug poisoning where a route of elimination is through kidney. Besides these, it is also used in symptomatic relief of edema, reperfusion injury, termination of pregnancy, and bowel preparation.

Mannitol হল Mannitol এর একটি পরিষ্কার, প্রায় বর্ণহীন এবং জীবাণুমুক্ত দ্রবণ। প্রতিটি 100 মিলি ম্যানিটলের মধ্যে ম্যানিটল বিপি 20 গ্রাম থাকে। প্যারেন্টেরালভাবে পরিচালিত, ম্যানিটল রক্তরসের অসমোটিক চাপ বাড়ায়, এইভাবে শরীরের টিস্যু থেকে জল বের করে এবং একটি অসমোটিক ডিউরিসিস তৈরি করে। ম্যানিটল প্রধানত IV ইনফিউশন দ্বারা একটি অসমোটিক মূত্রবর্ধক হিসাবে ব্যবহৃত হয় যা তীব্র কিডনি ব্যর্থতায় কিডনির কার্যকারিতা রক্ষা করতে এবং উত্থিত ইন্ট্রাক্রানিয়াল এবং ইন্ট্রাওকুলার চাপ কমাতে। ট্রান্সুরেথ্রাল প্রোস্ট্যাটিক রিসেকশনের সময় হিমোলাইসিস এবং হিমোগ্লোবিন তৈরি হওয়া প্রতিরোধ করার জন্য ম্যানিটল একটি সেচকারী সমাধান হিসাবেও ব্যবহৃত হয়। এটি তীব্র ওষুধের বিষের ব্যবস্থাপনায় কার্যকর যেখানে কিডনির মাধ্যমে নির্মূলের একটি পথ। এগুলি ছাড়াও, এটি শোথের লক্ষণীয় ত্রাণ, রিপারফিউশন আঘাত, গর্ভাবস্থার অবসান এবং অন্ত্রের প্রস্তুতিতেও ব্যবহৃত হয়।
