বাত, নেফ্রাইটিস ইত্যাদির মধ্য দিয়া, অতি সঙ্গোপনে সে হৃৎপিণ্ড আক্রমণ করে এবং যতদিন না তার মনস্কামনা পূর্ণ হয়, ততদিন সে দেহের প্রত্যেক অঙ্গপ্রত্যঙ্গকে তার বজ্রমুষ্ঠির মধ্যে ধরে পিষে ফেলতে চাহে।

মেডােরিনামের শিশু গ্রীষ্মকাল আসলেই নানাবিধ পেটের পীড়ায় কষ্ট পেতে থাকে। যা খায় তা হজম হয় না। অজীর্ণ, উদরাময়, বমি বা ভেদবমি দেখা দেয়। শরীরের গ্ল্যাণ্ড বা গ্রন্থিগুলি বৃদ্ধি পেয়ে ফুলে উঠে; চর্ম শিথিল হয়ে ঝুলে পড়ে। 

প্রত্যেক প্রদাহ যাহা নিদারুণ যন্ত্রণাদায়করূপে প্রকাশ হয় তাহা নিশ্চয় সাইকোটিক। এইজন্য গর্ভকোষ প্রদাহ, ডিম্বকোষ প্রদাহ, মূত্রকোষ প্রদাহ ইত্যাদি নানাবিধ প্রদাহে মেডােরিনাম প্রায়ই বেশ উপকারে আসে। 

কুচিকিৎসার ফলে রােগ-চরিত্র যখন বিকৃত হয়ে পড়ে, লক্ষণসমষ্টির অভাবই তখন স্বাভাবিক এবং এরূপ ক্ষেত্রে সিফিলিস বা সাইকোসিসের সন্ধান মিলিলে বা না মিললে এবং উপযুক্ত ঔষধ ব্যর্থ হতে থাকলে মেভােরিনাম, সােরিনাম, সিফিলিনাম, ব্যাসিলিনাম প্রভৃতি ঔষধগুলির কথা চিন্তা করে দেখা উচিত। 

হাতে পায়ে জ্বালা, ব্ৰহ্মতালুতে জ্বালা, প্রদাহযুক্ত স্থানে জ্বালা। জ্বালা এত বেশী যে রােগী ক্রমাগত তার হাতের তালু ও পায়ের তলায় এমন কি মুখ চোখেও ঠাণ্ডা জল লাগাতে ভালবাসে। জ্বালার মত ব্যথাও মেডোরিনামের নিত্য সহচর। বাত, গেঁটে বাত, কটি বাত, সর্বাঙ্গে ব্যথা ও কামড়ানি, ব্যথা নড়াচড়ায় বৃদ্ধি পায় বিশেষত যেখানে আক্রান্ত স্থান ফুলে উঠে। 

মেরুদণ্ডও অত্যন্ত স্পর্শকাতর, স্ত্রীলােকদের স্তন এবং স্তনবৃন্ত কখনও কখনও এত স্পর্শকাতর হয়ে উঠে যে তা আবৃত রাখতে কষ্টবােধ হতে থাকে। শিশুরা গায়ে হাত দেওয়া পছন্দ করে না।

মেডােরিন অত্যন্ত ভীরু ভাবাপন্ন, সামান্য শব্দে সে চমকে ওঠে; অত্যন্ত ব্যস্তবাগীশ- সকল কার্যে ব্যস্ততা এবং এত তাড়াতাড়ি করতে থাকে যে নিজেই হাঁপাইয়া পড়ে।
