অ্যাটিটিউবারকুলার ঔষধ। রক্তস্বল্পতা বা রক্তহীনতা এর বিশিষ্ট পরিচয়। কিন্তু রক্তস্রাব জনিত রক্তস্বল্পতা অপেক্ষা রক্তকণিকার অভাবজনিত রক্তহীনতা অর্থাৎ দেহে রক্ত না হওয়ার জন্য রক্তহীনতা দেখা দিলে ম্যাঙ্গেনাম বেশ ফলপ্রদ হয়। কণ্ঠনালীর উপর এর ক্রিয়া খুব বেশী।

চখের পরিশ্রমে চখে যন্ত্রণা, শিরঃপীড়া। পুর্বে বলেছি এর মধ্যে ক্ষয়দোষের প্রভাব দেখা যায়, বিশেষত মেয়েরা বয়স উত্তীর্ণ হয়ে গেলেও ঋতুমতী হয় না বা ঋতুমতী হলেও স্রাব খুব অল্প পরিমাণে হতে থাকে, তখন যদি দেখা যায় যে এমন অবস্থায় তারা দিন দিন রক্তহীন হয়ে পড়ছে এবং সেই সঙ্গে লেরিজাইটিস দেখা দিয়েছে কিম্বা রক্তকাশ দেখা দিয়েছে, তাহা হলে একবার ম্যাঙ্গেনামের কথা মনে করা উচিত।

ঋতুর পরিবর্তে শ্বেতপ্রদর। ঋতু একদিন বা দুদিন স্থায়ী হয়। স্বরভঙ্গ ধুমপানে কম পড়ে। 

পায়ের গােছ বা গােড়ালী এত বেদনাযুক্ত এবং এত স্পর্শকাতর যে তার উপর ভর দিয়া দাড়াতে পারে না। গাউট, অঙ্গপ্রত্যঙ্গ বেদনাযুক্ত। অঙ্গপ্রত্যঙ্গে ব্যথা ম্যাঙ্গেনামের একটি বিশিষ্ট পরিচয়। 

কাশি বেশীর ভাগ ক্ষেত্রেই শুলে বৃদ্ধি পায় কিন্তু ম্যাঙ্গেনামে তাহা কম পড়ে। বসে বা দাড়িয়ে থাকলে অবিরত কাশি। শুধু কাশি নহে, তাহার আরও অনেক যন্ত্রণা শুয়ে পড়লেই কমে যায়।
