গ্রাফাইটিস একটি অত্যন্ত দীর্ঘকাল কার্যকরী ঔষধ। ইহা সাধারণতঃ পুরাতন রােগেই ব্যবহৃত হয়। দেহ স্থুল, চর্ম স্থুল, চর্মরােগ হতে যে রস নির্গত হয় তা স্থুল অর্থাৎ গাঢ় এবং তার নখও স্থুল অর্থাৎ অত্যন্ত মােটা ও শক্ত। ঘাম খুব কম হয় বলে দেহ বেশ শক্ত। এইজন্য তার গাত্রত্বক শুষ্ক, শক্ত এবং স্থানে স্থানে ফেটে যায়। চটা-ঘা বা চুলকানি এবং মধুর মত গাঢ় চটচটে রস নির্গত হয়। নখগুলিও অত্যন্ত মােটা ও শক্ত এবং প্রায়ই আঙ্গুলের মধ্যে বসে গিয়া বেদনাযুক্ত হয়ে ওঠে। ঋতুস্রাব-তাহাও খুব ঘন। মলের একটি বিশেষত্ব এই যে মল যদিও মােটা এবং বড় কিন্তু তাহা অনেকগুলি ঢেলা বা গুটলে একত্র হয়ে বৃহদাকার প্রাপ্ত হয় এবং ঐ শক্ত শক্ত ঢেলা বা গুটলেগুলি আম বা শ্লেষ্মর দ্বারা আবদ্ধ থাকে। চর্মরোগ বসে গিয়ে উদরাময় দেখা দিলে ক্ষেত্রবিশেষে গ্রাফাইটিস বেশ উপকারে আসে। গ্রাফাইটিসের ঘাম খুব কম বলে প্রায়ই ফেটে যায় বিশেষত নাকের পাতা, চোখের পাতা, স্তনের বোঁটা, মলদ্বার ইত্যাদি স্থান ফেটে যায়।

গ্রাফাইটিস রােগী অত্যন্ত সতর্ক এবং সর্বদাই শঙ্কিত। সে কোন কাজ করবার পুর্বে ক্রমাগত চিন্তা করতে থাকে ইহা সে করবে কি না, যদি না হয় ইত্যাদি নানাবিধ আশঙ্কায় সে ব্যতিব্যস্ত হয়ে পড়ে। 

গ্রাফাইটিস রােগি সঙ্গীতও পছন্দ করে না, সঙ্গমেও ইচ্ছা করে না। ক্ষুধা-তৃষ্ণা খুব প্রবল কিন্তু মাছ, মাংস, মিষ্টি বা লবণ পছন্দ করে না।
