Gelsemium sempervirens - Brands

Heaviness or paralysis of the limbs and excessive blood in the brain or extreme heat of the head. Whatever the attack of Gelsemium, the limbs of the patient become so encumbered, or so paralyzed and immobilized, that his whole body trembles at every movement, or so encumbered that he is obliged to lie perpetually listless. He can't even open his eyes and look like he's asleep.

Where we see the patient always lying motionless, and his whole body trembling when he moves, we may remember Gelsemium. A Gelsemium patient's hands tremble when he grasps something, his legs tremble when he walks. If you look at the tongue, it trembles. His eyelids start to twitch.

Gelsemium patients are often thirsty. In the cold there is no thirst; There may be slight thirst in heat but sleeping in heat is its specialty. There is thirst during sweating. Gelsemium sufferers are very cold and like to stay covered all the time.

অঙ্গ-প্রত্যঙ্গে ভারবােধ বা পক্ষাঘাত ও মস্তিষ্কে রক্তাধিক্য বা মাথাটি অত্যন্ত গরম হওয়া। জেলসিমিয়ামের রােগ যাই হক না কেন তার আক্রমণে রােগীর অঙ্গ-প্রত্যঙ্গ এত ভারাক্রান্ত হয়ে পড়ে বা অবশ ও অসংযত হয়ে পড়ে যে কোনরূপ নড়া-চড়া করতে গেলেই তাহার সর্বশরীব থর-থর করে কঁপতে থাকে অথবা তা এত ভারাক্রান্ত হয়ে পড়ে যে সে সর্বদাই নিস্তেজভাবে পড়ে থাকতে বাধ্য হয় এমন কি চোখ মেলে চেয়ে থাকতেও পারে না- নিদ্রিতের মত পড়ে থাকেযেখানে আমরা দেখব রােগী সর্বদাই নির্মিষের মত পড়ে আছে এবং নড়াচড়া করতে গেলে তার সর্বশরীর কাঁপিয়া উঠছে সেখানেই আমরা জেলসিমিয়ামের কথা মনে করতে পারি। জেলসিমিয়ামের রােগী কিছু ধরতে গেলে তার হাত কাপতে থাকে, চলতে গেলে পা কাঁপতে থাকে। জিহ্বা দেখতে গেলে তা কাঁপতে থাকে। তাকে গেলে চোখের পাতা কাপতে থাকে।

জেলসিমিয়াম রুগী প্রায়ই তৃষ্ণাহীন হয়। শীত অবস্থায় মােটেই তৃষ্ণা থাকে না; উত্তাপ অবস্থায় সামান্য তৃষ্ণা থাকতে পারে কিন্তু উত্তাপ অবস্থায় নিদ্ৰাই তার বিশেষত্ব। ঘর্মাবস্থায় তৃষ্ণা থাকে। জেলসিমিয়ামের রুগী অত্যন্ত শীতার্ত হয় বলে সর্বদাই আবৃত থাকতে ভালবাসে।
