শরীরের যেখানে যে কোন রােগ হোক না কেন যদি তাতে আক্রান্ত স্থানটি অত্যন্ত উত্তপ্ত ও রক্তবর্ণ (আরক্তিম) হয়ে উঠে তাহা হলে প্রথমে বেলেভােনার কথা মনে করা উচিত। যেমন ধরুন, ফোড়া হলে ফোড়াটি যদি অত্যন্ত উত্তপ্ত এবং রক্তবর্ণ হয়ে উঠে, বাত হলে আক্রান্ত স্থানটি যদি অত্যন্ত উত্তপ্ত ও রক্তবর্ণ হয়ে উঠে, কাশি হলে কাশতে কাশতে মুখ অত্যন্ত উত্তপ্ত এবং রক্তবর্ণ হয়ে উঠে, ঋতুকষ্টে স্রাব যদি অত্যন্ত উত্তপ্ত বলে মনে হয় এবং স্রাবের রক্ত যদি উজ্জ্বল লালবর্ণ হয়, তাহা হলে প্রথমেই বেলেভােনার কথা মনে করা উচিত।

বেলেভােনার রােগগুলি অতি অকস্মাৎ দেখা দেয় এবং অতি অল্প সময়ের মধ্যে অতি ভীষণ হয়ে উঠে।

স্নায়ুতন্ত্রের সকল অংশের উপর বেলেডোনা কাজ করে, তৈরী করে সক্রিয় রক্তাধিক্য বা প্রবল রক্ত সঞ্চয়, তীব্র উত্তেজনা, বিশেষভাবে চিহ্নিত ইন্দ্রিয় সমূহের বিকৃত কার্য, নর্তন, আক্ষেপ ও যন্ত্রণা। রক্তবহানলীতন্ত্র, চামড়া ও গ্রন্থির উপর এই ঔষধের সুষ্পষ্ট কাজ আছে।

বেলেডোনার সঙ্গে যে সকল লক্ষণ সর্বদা উপস্থিত থাকে তা হল, উত্তপ্ত, লালচে বর্ণযুক্ত চামড়া, আরক্ত মুখমণ্ডল, উজ্জ্বল চোখ, দুই দিকের রগের ধমনীর দপদপানি, উত্তেজিত মানসিক অবস্থা, অত্যানুভূতিযুক্ত ইন্দ্রিয় সকল, প্রলাপবকা, অস্থির প্রকৃতির নিদ্রা, আক্ষেপিক নড়াচড়া, মুখ গহ্বরের ও গলার শুষ্কতা তৎসহ জলপানে অনিচ্ছা, স্নায়বিক বেদনা হঠাৎ আসে ও হঠাৎ চলে যায় (অক্সিটপিস্) উত্তাপ, লালবর্ণ, দপদপানি ও জ্বালা।

বেলেডোনা রোগী নিজস্ব একটি জগতে বিচরণ করে, যেখানে ভূতপ্রেত ও বাস্তব বর্জিত একটি স্বপ্নময় অবস্থার দেখা পাওয়া যায়। যদিও প্রকৃত দৃষ্ট বস্তু সম্পর্কে অনুভূতিবিহীন, রোগীর চারপাশে নানা প্রকার দৃষ্টিবিভ্রান্তিকর অবস্থার সৃষ্টি হয় এবং এইগুলি রোগীর ভিতর থেকে উদ্ভব হয়। কেবলমাত্র রোগী নিজে এই জাতীয় দৃষ্টি বিভ্রান্তি ও কাল্পনিক বস্তুসকল অনুভব করতে পারে। মাথাঘোরা, তৎসহ বামদিকে বা পিছন দিকে পড়ে যাবার মত অনুভূতি। খুব সামান্য স্পর্শেও কষ্ট পায়।

কাল্পনিক গন্ধ পায়। নাকের অগ্রভাগে সুড়সুড় করে। লালবর্ণযুক্ত ও স্ফীত। নাক থেকে রক্তস্রাব, তৎসহ মুখমণ্ডল রক্তবর্ণ। সর্দি, রক্তমিশ্রিত শ্লেষ্মা।

পেটের যন্ত্রণায় পেট জ্বলে যেতে থাকে, মূত্রত্যাগে জ্বালা করতে থাকে, ঋতুস্রাব জালা করতে থাকে, অর্শ জালা করতে থাকে, আক্রান্ত স্থান জ্বালা করতে থাকে। মুখগহ্বর শুষ্ক, দাঁতগুলিতে দপদপ্তর বেদনা। মাড়ীতে ফোঁড়া। জিহ্বার ধারগুলি লাল বর্ণ। জিহ্বা স্ট্যাবরি বা রসাল ফলের মত দেখতে। দাঁতগুলি কড়মড় করে। জিহ্বা স্ফীত ও বেদনা যুক্ত। তোতলামি। ক্ষুধার অভাব। দুধ ও মাংসে অনিচ্ছা। পেটের উপরের অংশে আক্ষেপিক বেদনা। সঙ্কোচন, যন্ত্রণা মেরুদণ্ড বরাবর উঠা-নামা করে। বমি বমি ভাব ও বমি। ঠাণ্ডা জল পানের তীব্র পিপাসা। পাকস্থলীর আক্ষেপ। শূন্য ঢেকুর। তরল পানে অনিচ্ছা। আক্ষেপিক হিক্কা । জলপানে ভয়। কমতে চায় না এরূপ বমি।

যোনিনলী শুষ্ক ও উত্তপ্ত। কোমরের চারপাশে টেনে ধরার মত অনুভূতি। ত্রিকাস্থি স্থানে বেদনা। ধাতুস্রাব বৃদ্ধিপ্রাপ্ত, উজ্জ্বল লাল, নির্দিষ্ট সময়ের অনেক আগে, পরিমানে প্রচুর। রক্তস্রাব উত্তপ্ত। একদিকের হিপ্ থেকে অপরদিকের হিপ্ পর্যন্ত কেটে ফেলার মত বেদনা। ধাতুস্রাব ও প্রবান্তিক স্রাব অত্যন্ত দুর্গন্ধযুক্ত ও উত্তপ্ত। প্রসব বেদনা হঠাৎ আসে, হঠাৎ চলে যায়। স্তন প্রদাহ, দপদপানি বেদনা, লালবর্ণ, স্তনের বোঁটা থেকে লাল আভা চারিদিকে প্রসারিত হয়। স্তনে ভারবোধ, দুইদিকের স্তন শক্ত লাল। স্তনের অর্বুদ, যন্ত্রণা শুয়ে পড়ার পড় বৃদ্ধি পায়। প্রসবান্তিক স্রাবের স্বল্পতা।

তীব্র হৃদকম্প, মাথার ভিতর প্রতিধ্বনিত হয়, তৎসহ কষ্টকর শ্বাস- প্রশ্বাস। সামান্য পরিশ্রমে হৃদকম্প। সারা শরীরে দপদপ্তর অনুভূতি। নাড়ীর দ্বিত স্পন্দন । মনে হয় হৃদপিণ্ড অনেকটা বড়ো হয়েছে। দ্রুত কিন্তু দুর্বল নাড়ী। লাল দাগযুক্ত উদ্ভেদ, মুখমণ্ডলে পুঁজযুক্ত ফুস্কুড়ি। গ্রন্থিসকল স্ফীত, স্পর্শকাতর, লাল, ছোট ফোঁড়া। গোলাপিবর্ণের ব্রণ। পুঁজযুক্ত ক্ষত। চামড়া পর্যায়ক্রমে লাল ও ফ্যাকাশে বর্ণযুক্ত। প্রদাহের পর কঠিনতা।
