Mix together 96 grains of arsenious acid and 20 ounces of distilled water and apply heat, when the water is reduced, add water again to the previous quantity. After reheating all the acid evaporates and cools down to leave only 15 ounces of water in the container. When cool, mix rectified spirit with it to make 1 pint. This is arsenic (2x) decimal or 1 hundredth strength.
Arsenic should not be used occasionally in dysentery or cholera. Application of arsenic to areas other than arsenic can be fatal.
