রােগীর মানসিক অবস্থা খুব দুর্বল ও প্রায় জড়বধির মত হয়ে থাকে। তার মনে হয় যেন সে স্বপ্নের মধ্যে রয়েছে, সব কিছুই তার কাছে বিস্ময়কর বােধ হয়, কোন কিছর অর্থ বুঝতে বিলম্ব হয়ে থাকে। রােগীর মধ্যে খুব খিটখিটে ভাব, সব কিছুতেই বিরক্তি দেখা যাবে, এবং সে অভিশাপ দিতে থাকে। রােগী সব সময়ই উদ্বিগ্ন থাকে, কিছুতেই তার শান্তি নেই। যেন পথিবীর সবাই তাকে পরিত্যাগ করেছে। এই ভেবে সে নিজের ইচ্ছে মত শব্দ করে বা ইচ্ছেমত চলতে চায়। সে ভীষণ ভীতু। সব সময়ই কোন না কোন ভয়াবহ ঘটনা ঘটবার আশঙ্কায় সে ভীত থাকে। সেই জন্য তাকে দুঃখী, বিষন্ন ও গােমড়া মুখে থাকতে দেখা যায়।
