Ammonia water is a powerful heart stimulant. For this reason, this medicine is used in cases of fainting, thrombosis, haemorrhage, snakebite, chloroform intoxication. This powerful drug produces lesions of the skin and mucous membranes and these are considered as guiding symptoms for the use of this drug.

Difficult breathing, accumulation of mucus in the chest, hoarseness, burning pain in the throat, pain in the front of the trachea, shortness of breath, the patient eats food to breathe.

Tongue covered with white mucus, nose ditheria, with burning nasal discharge. Excessive fatigue of the limbs and weakness of the muscles, arthritis of the neck, skin hot and dry.

The medicine is prepared by heating a mixture of ammonium chloride and lime water and passing the resulting ammonia gas into water (hydrate of ammonia).

Boric dosage: 1st to 3rd strength, also 5 to 10 drops mixed well with water.
