রােগী সাধারণভাবে গরমে সংবেদনশীল এবং ঠাণ্ডা পছন্দ করে থাকে বলে অনেক সময় ঐ ঠাণ্ডায় তার কাশি বেড়ে যায়।

উষ্ণ ঘরে অথবা সন্ধ্যার দিকে অ্যালিয়াম সিপার উপসর্গ সবচেয়ে বেশি বেড়ে যেতে দেখা যায়। কাশলে ল্যারিংক্স-এ ব্যথা হয় এবং রােগীর মনে হয় যেন প্রত্যেকবার কাশির সময় গলার ভিতরে বাঁকানাে হুকের মত কিছু একটা ঢুকিয়ে দেওয়া হচ্ছে।

মাথাধরায় মাথায় ভারবােধ, মাথার পিছনদিকে ‘অক্সিপিটাল অস্থির কাছে বেদনা; তীব্র ধরনের মাথাধরায় ফেটে যাওয়া, ছিড়ে পড়া, মাথায় দপদপ করা ব্যথার সঙ্গে রােগীর চোখে আলাে সহ্য হয় না। 

কানের মধ্যে ঘণ্টার মত শব্দ হওয়া, কপাল থেকে কান পর্যন্ত আসা সুচ ফোটানাের মত ব্যথা প্রভৃতি থাকতে পারে।

কাশি ঠাণ্ডা বায়ু এবং উষ্ণ ঘরে বেড়ে যায়। বাতাস গ্রহণ, উষ্ণ ঘর, সন্ধ্যার দিকে কাশি বদ্ধি পাওয়া এবং গলায় টেনে ছেড়ার মত ব্যথা থাকে তবে সেই অবস্থাকে অ্যালিয়াম সিপা অবশ্যই সারাবে।

প্রাচীন মহিলারা ক্রপ কাশি হলে শিশর গলার চারপাশে পেয়াজ বেধে ঝুলিয়ে দিতেন এবং সেটা বেশ কার্যকরী হত। ওষধটির প্রধান প্রধান বৈশিষ্ট্য হিসাবে গলায় কর্কশতার সঙ্গে ঘণ্টা বাজার মত ঘঙ ঘঙে ও আক্ষেপযুক্ত কাশি, অনবরত গলার ভিতরে সুড়সড় করার জন্য দেখা।
