গলা প্রদাহিত, শোথযুক্ত, ঈষৎ কালচে লাল বর্ণযুক্ত গলার ভিতর ও বাইরের অংশের প্রচণ্ড ফোলা ভাব, শুষ্ক, খসখসে, গলা বন্ধ হয়ে আসার ন্যায় অনুভূতি, গলার স্বর ভাঙা ও ঘড়ঘড়ে। জিহ্বা শুস্ক ও বাদামিবর্ণের, দাঁত, দস্তুমলে ঢাকা থাকে, ঢোক গেলার সময় বেদনা, বেদনা দুটি কান পর্যন্ত বর্ধিত হয়। ঘাড়ের স্ফীতি ও হাত দিলে ব্যথা পায়।
