Carotid Doppler

Carotid Doppler is a non-invasive diagnostic test that uses high-frequency sound waves, or ultrasound, to create images of the carotid arteries in the neck. The carotid arteries are two large blood vessels that supply oxygen-rich blood to the brain.

During a carotid Doppler test, a handheld device called a transducer is placed on the neck over the carotid artery.
